A leading supplier of rotor debarking machinery, Valon Kone has a long experience in robotized welding. In recent years, however, it became increasingly clear for the company that its production machinery was in need of an upgrade.
”During the past few years, we have had some challenges owing to the long service life of our existing robotized welding station,” Valon Kone Production Manager Jukka Jurvanen points out.
The original plan was to replace the welding station in around 2008–2009, but due to the global economic recession, as well as investments in other production machinery, the decision was made that the new welding station would need to wait.
However, now that the investment was made, Valon Kone in fact ended up with a larger, more versatile solution than what it had originally had in mind.
Thanks to the new Pemamek solution, designed and implemented in collaboration between the supplier and the buyer, Valon Kone can increase its productivity and improve the quality of its products. In addition, the solution enables the company to increase in-house heavy welding.
Established in the 1940s, Valon Kone today operates in modern facilities in Lohja, Southern Finland, with a total area of approximately 6,500 m2.
