Tieto and Malmö, Sweden’s third largest city, have introduced a new digitalized operational system for the municipality’s social care services.
Known as Lifecare, the new operational system has been implemented over the past fifteen months. The system manages the entire chain from handling documentation, scheduling, and housing administration, to reporting performed actions and archiving.
The system will improve the care offered to residents by reducing the administrative burden for staff and enabling the future exchange of information between different care providers.
“Digitalized processes will simplify work routines considerably for more than 8,000 users, leading to a better service for residents,” says Björn Sassler, Project Manager for the system implementation, City of Malmö.
The fifteen-month implementation of Lifecare makes up the first part of a five-year agreement between Tieto and Malmö. The agreement is worth SEK 18 million (€1.9 million) and has an option for a further five years.
