Hiab, the world’s leading provider of on-road load handling equipment, has announced the winner of the first ever World Crane Championships.
The final competition was held at the Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham earlier this week.
The winner is Johnny Jensen from Denmark, who manoeuvred a HIAB X-HiPro 192 through a series of obstacles in a winning time of 2 minutes 18 seconds. Jensen’s performance earned him the first place and a prize of €25,000.
“I am absolutely thrilled and happy to win this prestigious competition and delighted about my time,” said Mr Jensen, according to Hiab. “The atmosphere was fantastic today!”
The first runner-up was Tobias Bergström from Sweden, while Martin Utpatel from Germany came in third place.
According to Hiab, the competition was a success, and preparations are already being made for next year’s competition, to be held in Germany at the IAA Exhibition.
