Bestowed by importers, exporters, and logistics and supply chain professionals, the award is given in recognition of a port’s performance in service quality, innovation, customer relations and reliability, as well as other factors.
This is the second consecutive year and the 18th time in the last 21 years that the Port of Long Beach has won the title for the Best North American Seaport. The other finalists this year were the ports of Seattle, Houston, and New York/New Jersey.
“We are pleased to have the validation of key stakeholders in our industry,” said Port of Long Beach CEO Jon Slangerup. “We thank our customers for supporting us and recognizing the dedication the port staff has in making sure we provide excellent service, top value and efficient delivery of their cargo to their markets.”
The awards ceremony was hosted last week in Shanghai by the shipping trade publication Asia Cargo News. Awards were also given in other categories, including shipping lines, container terminals, air cargo carriers, and road haulers.
