Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has received an order from Australia’s newest and largest RoRo and automotive terminal, due to open in April 2016.
The terminal has been designed and constructed by the newly formed Melbourne International RoRo and Automotive Terminal Pty Ltd (MIRRAT), which will ultimately be operating the terminal as well.
MIRRAT’s order includes four Kalmar DCE330-RoRo forklifts, four Kalmar DCG160-12 forklifts, and four Kalmar TR618i terminal tractors modified for MIRRAT’s requirements.
According to MIRRAT, the procurement decision was based on several key factors, including reliability, operational flexibility, as well as environmental sustainability. Kalmar represented the best balance of these factors.
Kalmar’s delivery is scheduled for March and April 2016.
